Control Union is a member of the Association of Professional Social Compliance Auditors (APSCA) and of SEDEX. Auditors are trained extensively to make sure we carry out these assessments professionally and with integrity.
Our activities are internationally recognised by many industries, organisations and multinational companies and we operate in various industry sectors, including food, feed, agricultural processing and textiles.
Our audits are based either on ILO-based international standards, or undertaken to your own code of conduct. We can also assist in developing a code of conduct for you.
SMETA – 2 pillar and 4 pillar assessments
Control Union Certifications offers SMETA (Sedex Member Ethical Trade Audit) auditing, a method developed by the multi stakeholder consultation initiative, Sedex. SMETA’s role is to align social audit standards and monitoring practices, to ease the auditing burden on suppliers by sharing reports and driving improvements in supply chain labour standards.

GRASP – GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Practice
The GLOBALG.A.P Risk Assessment on Social Practice (GRASP) is mainly based on document checks and is to assess social risks in primary production. GRASP supports producers to address important social issues and build awareness at farm level.
